Hello. You scanned a card slab and ended up here, which means you probably have some questions, and if you know me in real life you almost certainly have all of them. Fair.

Short version: over about seven months I filmed my entire family saying hello to a YouTuber, one relative at a time. He watched every single one on his channel. Then he posted me a signed card, I posted him a signed YouTube play button, and a card grading company refused to have anything to do with any of it. So I made the slab myself, put a QR code on it, and here you are.

Long version below, oldest first. About ten minutes. There are boxes along the way explaining anything you would only know if you were unusually online.

Jack Massey Welsh is an English YouTuber who posts as JackSucksAtLife. He has been making videos for years and has a genuinely enormous audience.

His second channel, JackSucksAtStuff, puts out a weekly video where he scrolls through his own fan forum and reacts to whatever people posted that week. That weekly video is the entire reason any of this happened.

The forum is on Reddit, it is called r/JackSucksAtLife, and my username there is u/Aninsecurecarrot. There is no way to submit anything to him. You just have to post something good enough that it reaches the top that week.

So why is it in a slab?

Collectors send valuable cards to a company called PSA, who check the card is genuine, grade its condition from 1 to 10, and seal it in a hard plastic case with a printed label. That sealed case is a slab. A slabbed card is worth more than a loose one, because the grade is independent proof of what you have.

I sent mine off to be graded. PSA will not authenticate a signature unless the person who signed it is on their list of people worth authenticating, and Jack, staggeringly, is not on that list.

So I made the slab myself. The case is homemade. The grade is invented. The serial number means nothing at all. The signature is completely real, which I would argue is the only part that was ever going to matter.

Before this page existed, this website was a tool where the subreddit designed the label that ended up on that slab. It is still up, because people put real effort into some genuinely terrible labels and it would be rude to delete them.
